Continued from here, wherein John asked Zee for some help in contacting the spirit medium looking for Jessica's soul, and/or doing some complicated magic.  Depending on how this all goes.  It also may or may not involve John being almost romantic, wut.

He must have loved her a great deal. Still, both of them will suffer if it continues the way it is.

You mentioned it, partially. But I wasn't entirely sure of the whole shebang.

[She places a hand awkwardly on her chest.] No. They don't. They don't take well to any stupid actions the living take in their names.

[Nods] That's the vibe I got when I talked to him 'bout her. [Oh so casually] I may have mentioned to him that I already had contact with her spirit. Which puts me in a bit o' a position to deliver, if ye catch my drift. That's why, if this thing with th' Third Grey doesn't work out, I'm gonna need me a Plan B.

[Glances over at her last comment. After a second, his hand reaches over to gently draw hers away from his chest, and he pulls it to his lips for a moment like he thinks he's a gentleman or something] That's why we're gonna do what we can t'right this one.

Big talk, as always. Plan B, hm? If we look for people touched by him, then it could work out regardless. There is bound to be more than one person that can slap some sense into him even if it's a bit more violent or earth-shaking than a dead girlfriend would be. It might be easier to start off that way than looking specifically for her, considering that both sides seem to be unaware of where the girl is. --she might be amidst a reincarnation, even. Which... [A frown here.] Could be a problem.

[She feels a bit embarrassed. If it was anyone else, it wouldn't be as nearly a grand romantic gesture. Oh, maybe she's just a bit starry-eyed now. Maybe.] Alright.

Exactly. If he's a hunter, he's bound t'have a whole bunch of dead friends or relatives floatin' around. That's just th' way their lives go. Got a little trinket off 'im, anyways, so we've got somethin' to focus on. Had to tell him something to get it, which is why I had t'lie in the first place. He wouldn't have trusted me otherwise. Ironic, innit?

[He just squeezes her hand, and releases it slowly] Anyway, it's a short walk. Just up ahead, here.

So at the time, you were just grasping in the dark? You live so dangerously, John Constantine. [She smiles as she looks on forward, eyes darting to him for only a moment before settling on what's before them again.]

Mmm. [She lets her hand fall to her side now.]

[Glances over at her for a split second] 'Course.

[Even he'll admit, the word sounds funny coming out of his mouth.]

I didn't mean it that way, but since you're offering... who am I to refuse such a generous offer? [Strange, but sort of cute. In that terribly awkward sort of way. She likes it.]

[Covers a smile with a puff on his cig, but then pats his pockets absently as something strikes him] Er, 'cept ye might have to spot me some dosh this time, luv. [An almost sheepish expression crosses his face. Oops.]

I thought it was whomever asked the other that usually paid, yes? It's on me. [She puts a hand on her neck, messing with it a bit.] I know you wouldn't take advantage of me like that. It's nothing to worry over.

You're right, I wouldn't. Jus' didn't exactly expect t'be sticking around America this long, an' didn't come fully prepared.

[Nods up the block at the casino in question]

That's the one. We're gonna have to go through the back though. Not a lot of casinos I can get in through the front door around here anymore.

I don't mind being the one wearing the pants.

[She looks the place over. Just in case, she makes a mental note that there's a high chance there won't be a performance at this place any time in the near future. Just in case.] Of course. Unless you want to try a disguise. I've found I'm quite good at them.

[Pulls the hat off his head to examine it a minute before setting it ruefully back on his head] If anybody does recognize me this way, I'm gonna be severely disappointed in me-self.

[Gives a little half-cocked grin that looks strange on his new face, and throws his cigarette to the curb, as he heads in the front revolving doors]

I can hold it up as long as you need. Just give me the word and it's gone. [She fiddles with the disposable camera and takes a few pictures.]

[She follows closely, playing the good tourist and looking surprised at everything she sees.]

[Glances around as they head through the tables and machines] Been some time since I've seen the inside of this place. [His attention seems to get drawn to one of the card tables] Y'know, while we're here, I could take care of that low-on-funds problem I've been havin'...
